The Olubunmi Alao Foundation works in three areas: education, essential support, and health and wellness. Together they improve quality of life and create long-term opportunity for underserved communities in the United States and Nigeria.
Education is one of the most important pillars of the Foundation because it represents opportunity, empowerment, and hope for the future. Olubunmi deeply valued education and believed it was one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives.
She believed education opened doors, expanded possibilities, and empowered individuals to build better futures for themselves and their communities. That belief remains central to our work today.
We believe that every person deserves access to life’s basic necessities and the dignity that comes with them. This pillar reflects the way Olubunmi lived her life. She never ignored those facing hardship and consistently found ways to support people during difficult seasons.
Through this work, we help vulnerable individuals and families meet immediate needs while restoring hope and stability.
As a physician-led Foundation, we have seen how access to healthcare can change the trajectory of a person’s life. Our goal is to help bridge gaps in healthcare access while promoting wellness, prevention, education, and compassionate care.
Our long-term vision includes health education initiatives, healthcare outreach, medical assistance, and eventually medical mission trips to underserved communities throughout Nigeria and beyond.
The Foundation launched with a Children’s Day outreach that served approximately 100 children through school supplies, meals, and activities, following a prelaunch community event in partnership with the Dolly Children Foundation.
Every gift, every hour, and every partnership helps a child learn, a family regain stability, and a community grow stronger.
