On May 27, 2026, the Olubunmi Alao Foundation officially launched with a Children’s Day celebration at Adeniji Primary School in Surulere, Lagos. The day brought together approximately 100 children from schools and community organizations for a celebration built around learning, play, and possibility.
We were proud to host the day alongside the Gamaliel and Susan Onosode Foundation (GAMSU), the Dolly Children Foundation, and the Destiny Trust Foundation. Together, we shared a simple belief: that consistent investment in children is one of the most powerful ways to build a stronger, more inclusive community.
The celebration was full of energy. Children took part in spelling bees, performances, music, and dance, and a talent showcase gave many of them a stage to shine in front of their peers.
Every child received educational materials, including books and school supplies, to support their learning in the months ahead. Between the activities, there were meals, games, and plenty of room to simply be a child and have fun.
This Children’s Day was our official launch, and a clear picture of the work ahead: practical, community-centered support that creates real opportunity for children. It is a beginning we intend to build on, outreach after outreach.
